House Rules Series 6 Charity House Event
Earlier this year, we were approached by channel 7 asking if we would be interested in helping with a renovation for a young family from our local area. Without any more information provided but being a family-oriented business that we are, we agreed straightaway.
Just like everyone else we watched as the story unfolded and found out the truly heartbreaking story behind this young family. Childhood sweethearts Chelsea and Wayde had applied to be contestants on the show last year, but when Wayde tragically passed away soon after, everything changed.
Now one year on, it was House Rules turn to help the family out and we were lucky enough to be a part of this life changing experience.
When we asked our staff Eliesha, Dan, Matt, Frank, Serg, Jake, Cicc and Zac to be involved their response was an overwhelming yes. Joe & Bev are very proud bosses of the wonderful team at Paiano Custom Kitchens.
With all that in mind, Paiano Custom Kitchen's would like to take the opportunity to give a special thanks as recognition to our suppliers who teamed up with us to help bring this project to fruition.
Peter & Steve @ Laminex Unanderra who supplied all the kitchen, laundry door materials along with the Essastone benchtop materials.
Carlos & Angela @ Superior Stone who manufactured & installed the kitchen & laundry benchtops.
Maxine @55 Parrots supplied the 4 bar stools, Teegan @ Lo & Co supplied the kitchen & laundry handles & Doug @ Unanderra Nover supplied the laundry bins.
The willingness demonstrated by these company's involvement only highlights the generosity of community minded people throughout Australia!
PCK also enjoyed working with the final 3 contestants, who were a pleasure to work with, as were all the crew and team at Channel 7. We were delighted with the end results including the response after the kitchen was completed.
One of the judges Laurence Llewelyn - Bowen even said, "This kitchen will remain one of my favourites of all time"!
We hope that Chelsea and Koa will share many meals that are jam packed with love in their beautiful kitchen and they will appreciate the lovely laundry for countless years to come!
We are passionate about giving back to the local Wollongong community. With every kitchen purchased, a portion of the profit is used to make a donation to a local charity.
The Lewis family renovation: March 21, 2010
The Blitz team goes to Wollongong to help out the Lewis family who have been living in a halfrenovated house while dad Vaughan is being treated for advanced melanoma.
Interior: living room, dining room and kitchen makeover
The first job was to remove the wall. We decided that the best thing to do with the existing kitchen would be to "update" what was already there - maintaining the original layout.
We replaced the cupboard doors and installed a granite bench top, which immediately updates a kitchen. With the installation of a new skylight, the kitchen looked brighter, cleaner and bigger.
The dining area features a new setting and a fancy timber block feature wall. The whole area opens onto the living room. In the living room, we covered the exposed brick, freshened the room with a coat of paint and replaced the old sofas with stylish modern seating.
Exterior: tiered garden with vegie patch and chook yard
This will be a three-tiered yard. The upper level becomes a cottage garden with a sandstone flagging dining area surrounded by mature flowering trees.
There'll be arbour-covered steps leading to a large grassed area, complete with a trampoline for the kids and a white picket fence. The lower level is a produce garden, with a chook pen and raised organic vegie patches.
25 Anniversary Kitchen Giveaway (Sept 2009)
To celebrate Paiano Custom Kitchens' 25th Year Anniversary, we thought, what better way to party than to give away a FREE kitchen!
So for a few months, everyone who signed up for a new kitchen was entered in the draw. All of our clients were hopeful to win a brand new kitchen with ALL appliances included!
With the help of some of our wonderful suppliers the kitchen came to the value of $12,000. We celebrated our 25th anniversary with suppliers, staff, friends and family in our showroom, with yummy food and drinks.
Then it was time for the lucky winner to be announced...
Joe Paiano's father Rocco, oldest member of staff, was the one to draw the winner from a box in front of the crowd.
KAREN HAHN was our winner! This beautiful woman from the Illawarra region was so deserving of a new kitchen. When we called her up, after tears of joy, she told us of how her and her two young sons had prayed they would win this kitchen. Congratulations!
